Powered by Nature
Our vision at the Waterman League is to redefine the ‘ohana’ (family) of ocean sports into an identifiable market sector, grouping the spectrum of ocean sports together as a collective. We believe that belonging to the action sports group doesn’t define who we are, as the other sports in this group are not bound by the same unifying forces that we are: namely the ocean and the environment that surrounds us.
The direct correlation between the energy sources that power our sports to those that have the potential to power our environmentally challenged future is clear. Furthermore, for us as Watermen and ocean sports and lifestyle enthusiasts, the ocean is our playground, our lifeline and our sanctuary: protecting that environment is not only close to our hearts, but critical to safeguard our precious ecosystems and to be able to enjoy our passions for years to come.
We at the Waterman League have therefore set it as our mission to focus our efforts on two core areas:
- The promotion of the need for renewable energy sourcing and the showcasing of just how realistic it is, together with how we can all play our part in making a difference
- The support of key and targeted environmental organizations such as Oceana and the Surfrider Foundation through our events, media programs across all platforms and fundraising initiatives
Over the coming weeks, we will begin continuous feeds to this site from our partners in both core areas, to keep you up to date with the latest news and encourage your participation towards the greater good.
As ocean sports enthusiasts and people who live the ocean lifestyle, we are already powered by nature: it is now our responsibility to showcase this to the rest of the world. Please join us in our efforts to really make a difference by signing up below:
